The Role

A new opportunity has opened up for a Yard Supervisor to join our Ports operational team in Geraldton, Midwest.

The primary purpose of the Yard Supervisor role is to oversee all Container Yard and Port Sheds operations while also leading the operational teams allocated to shifts in order to achieve productivity, safety and customer performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate communication of standards, expectations and procedures to the operational team through pre-start Safety & information discussions and meetings
• Selects, prepares and directs the use of appropriate equipment in a safe and productive manner that contributes to safe practices, damage prevention and productivity
• Directs and manages the performance of the operations team on the job to ensure a safe and efficient operation
• Complete and process all required documents
• Monitor and ensure compliance with employment terms (EAs), OH&S and Environmental legislation and company policy and take necessary corrective actions

Skills and Experience Required

• Minimum 2 years supervisory experience in the stevedoring & Logistics industry.
• Intermediate computer skills – Excel, word, outlook
• Appropriate licenses eg. forklift, rigger, crane is desirable but not mandatory
• Sound technical knowledge and experience in stevedoring, vessel operations and planning
• Experience in high risk operating environments
• Problem solving, communication and time management skills
