ABOUT THE ROLE
Based in Darwin and reporting to the National Logistics Manager, the primary purpose of the Transport Operations Manager is to be responsible for the management of day to day Qube Energy Logistics operations in the Northern Territory, ensuring compliance with all Company, legislative and client requirements.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Manage the compliance of all customer, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements
- Serve as liaison with all stakeholders for daily operational activities
- Foster and maintain positive partnerships with all stakeholders, Internal and External
- Undertake the co-ordination of all heavy vehicle and driver movements in line with Company Policy, Legislative, CoR and Accreditation requirements
- Management of the warehouse and site operations in East Arm and ensure compliance and customer satisfaction
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Company Policy and, Legislative requirements via, audits reviews and Safety Engagement with all personnel
- Assist with the recruitment process of new drivers/operators
- Assist in seeking new business opportunities in the Transport and Logistics sector
- Conduct performance management and development of drivers/operators
- Management of subcontractors and their compliance and ensuring service agreements are valid and current for all work engaged
- Managing transportation operations and network delivery, including fleet and schedule optimisation
- Development of transportation models and solutions that are technology-driven and sustainable
- Negotiating and managing supplier contracts to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness, and timely deliveries
- Analyse State and site results and develop and implement business plans to ensure profitable growth and development opportunities
- Keep detailed records, generate reports, and develop presentations to aid decision making for the Business/Operation
- Manage the compliance of all customer, quality assurance and documentation and procedural requirements
- Ensure growth by retention and extension of existing client business and establishment of new business partners
- Identify all business risks and develop appropriate management strategies to minimise exposure
- Monitor and ensure compliance with legislative requirements, Industrial Relations Agreements, WHS and Environmental legislation and company policies
- Management of Operational budgets and P&L
- Responsibility of the management of the HSE plan
Qualifications and Experience:
- 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Sound knowledge and experience of the transport industry and business management
- Knowledge and understanding of applicable Commonwealth/State Safety and Environmental legislation and standards
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with a variety of people
- Advanced skills using Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint
- Ability to work autonomously using a proactive approach to task resolution
- Ability to work with a small team, leading the team with a proactive approach
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable to work in a demanding environment
